HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - A 34-year-old Hattiesburg woman charged in a 2009 DUI death of a toddler will be returned to the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections after being charged with four DUI-related offenses.

The Hattiesburg American reports (https://hatne.ws/29ntmmO) Darlena Mickel made her initial court appearance Tuesday in Hattiesburg Municipal Court. Bond was set at $100,000 for DUI-negligence of driver results in death or disfigurement.

Mickel also was charged with two counts of DUI-child endangerment and DUI-first offense for allegedly driving under the influence while involved in a wreck.

Hattiesburg police spokesman Lt. Jon Traxler said a two-vehicle incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Traxler says a child was injured in the wreck and is listed in critical condition.
