JOHNSTOWN, N.Y. (AP) - A 24-year-old upstate New York woman who was the subject of a massive search has returned home, telling police she was held for two weeks against her will.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office says Rachael Mattice returned to her family’s home in Johnstown early Wednesday and was evaluated at a local hospital, where she was found in good health.

Mattice had last been seen June 22 as she headed for the family’s Adirondack camp in Wells, where she worked as a home health care aide.

Her disappearance sparked an intense search involving helicopters and dogs.

A state police investigator said Wednesday that Mattice told police she had been held against her will. No more details were immediately released.
