WEBSTER GROVES, Mo. (AP) - A new institute in Webster Groves plans to bring together business and faith-based leaders to encourage good works in society.

The Walker Leadership Institute will operate out of the Eden Theological Seminary. It was made possible by a $1 million gift from George and Carol Walker of St. Louis.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports (https://bit.ly/29vZ3dO ) the institute will offer a master of arts in community leadership program and a Walker Fellows Program for leaders in various religious congregations. A Leadership for the Common Good program will encourage leaders to work on faith, good works and community.

Walker is the former chairman of the board of Webster University and a former U.S. ambassador. Carol Walker is an alumna of Eden and a board of trustees member.
