DETROIT (AP) - Authorities say an explosion and fire destroyed a home in Detroit, leaving one man burned and two firefighters who responded overcome by heat.

Crews arrived Wednesday night following a report of an explosion at the home.

The cause is under investigation, but Deputy Fire Commissioner David Fornell tells the Detroit Free Press it appears there was “some type of minor explosion” that caused the fire to quickly spread. The Detroit News reports foul play isn’t suspected in the fire.

The firefighters were expected to be OK.

Two nearby homes were damaged and officials say at least six people were displaced. They were getting help from the American Red Cross.
