CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A coroner has released the name of a South Carolina sanitation worker who was killed when he was struck by a garbage truck earlier this week.

The Charleston County coroner told local news outlets that 47-year-old Tyrone Comfort of Charleston died Tuesday.

Witnesses said Comfort was standing behind the truck as it backed up. Comfort died at the scene. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the death.
