REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. (AP) - The Coast Guard has rescued five people from a boat that was starting to sink off the coast of Delaware.

The Coast Guard said in a news release that watchstanders in Delaware Bay received a distress call from someone on a 20-foot recreational boat Wednesday morning.

Rescue crews found the boat about 7 miles east of Indian River, Delaware, and were able to get everyone off the boat as it took on water.

One of the rescue boats then towed the disabled vessel into South Shore Marina, where the boat was trailered.

The Coast Guard says everyone on board was wearing a life jacket, and the use of a VHF radio helped personnel find them quickly. No injuries were reported.
