TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Hazy, hot and humid weather conditions persist throughout New Jersey.

An excessive heat warning remains in effect until 6 p.m. Friday for Mercer, Gloucester, Camden and northwest Burlington counties.

Forecasters say high temperatures on Thursday will reach near 95 degrees. Combined with the humidity, it will feel like it is 100 degrees.

The very young and the very old should avoid spending too much time outside.

Parts of the state could get some brief relief from the heat from thunderstorms on Thursday afternoon. Forecasters say the storms could dump up to 2 inches of rain during a short period of time.
