MONTICELLO, N.Y. (AP) - A 24-year-old Hudson Valley man has been indicted on a murder charge in connection with the slaying of a Brooklyn man.

The Times Herald-Record of Middletown reports (https://bit.ly/29wM39N ) that a Sullivan County grand jury indicted Carlos Serrano of Monticello on charges of second-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment, all felonies.

The indictment alleges that Serrano intentionally caused the death of 28-year-old Juan Medina in June by shooting him multiple times with a handgun at a home in Monticello.

Serrano also is charged with possessing a loaded handgun and recklessly endangering other people when he fired shots at Medina.

Serrano has been held at Sullivan County Jail without bail since his arrest a week ago. He’s to be arraigned later this week.
