MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - A jury is deliberating in the case of a man accused of assaulting a New Hampshire couple during a violent home invasion in 2012.

WMUR-TV (https://bit.ly/29nPDVt ) reports that Charles Normil is facing more than a dozen charges including attempted murder. Prosecutors and the defense gave their closing arguments in Manchester on Wednesday.

Prosecutors say Eduardo and Sonia Quesada returned to their Bedford home on Nov. 24, 2012, and were attacked by Normil, who was allegedly armed with a screwdriver.

Police say Eduardo Quesada was stabbed in the face and Sonia Quesada, was physically and sexually assaulted. Sonia Quesada died Jan. 7, 2013, in what police called an unrelated incident.

Normil’s attorney questioned the credibility of co-defendant Nathan Lamontagne, who pleaded guilty in exchange for a five-year-sentence and his testimony.
