DALLAS (AP) - A Lancaster man has been sentenced to 45 years in prison for attempting to steal an ATM from a CVS Pharmacy in northwest Dallas.

The Dallas Morning News (https://bit.ly/29iOcBu ) reports that 32-year-old Michael Morgan was convicted last month of engaging in organized criminal activity. His defense attorney says he was sentenced Wednesday morning.

Authorities say Morgan and up to five other men broke into the pharmacy on Aug. 4. A store manager later found the cash machine nearly destroyed.

A police officer searching for the suspects questioned Morgan and two other men sitting in a car outside nearby apartments, but their clothes didn’t match original descriptions.

Morgan was arrested months after the break-in on a separate charge. He was later tied to the ATM theft.
