ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - A man was seriously injured while riding a jet ski in the Chesapeake Bay.

Maryland Natural Resources Police spokeswoman Candy Thomson says the incident happened Wednesday night.

Witnesses told officials that the man was jumping boat wakes when he was thrown from the jet ski.

Officials responded and found the man face-down in the water and unresponsive. He was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Additional details have not been provided. Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
