FLORENCE, Ala. (AP) - A fire that destroyed a Florence church last week has been ruled accidental.

The TimesDaily reports (https://bit.ly/29ks8XF ) Assistant State Fire Marshal Scott Pilgreen said Wednesday that an investigation revealed that the cause of the Friday fire at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church was electrical and not intentional.

Shiloh Pastor Michael Timberlake Jr. says no one was hurt, and no one was inside in the church when the blaze started Friday morning.

Church member Brenda Reeder says the building that burned was built 61 years ago.

Church historians said the church started out in a log building in 1883. The current building was built in 1953, but was blown down during a storm and rebuilt. It was dedicated in 1955.

Timberlake says plans are underway to rebuild the church.
