RUSH SPRINGS, Okla. (AP) - The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says it’s investigating an officer-involved shooting in Rush Springs in southwestern Oklahoma.

The OSBI says the Grady County Sheriff’s Office requested its assistance on Wednesday night after a person was shot and killed by an officer.

Authorities say the shooting occurred during a domestic disturbance after a woman told the officer a man had a gun behind his back. Officials say the man was shot when he exposed a gun.

The OSBI says a half dozen of its special agents responded to the scene to gather information and evidence. Once the investigation is complete, agents will deliver a written report to the district attorney’s office, which will then decide if the shooting was justified.

Neither the man nor the officer has been identified.
