PLANTATION, Fla. (AP) - Officials have launched an arson investigation after a stolen car parked in Plantation was set on fire by a Molotov cocktail thrown through a smashed window.

Plantation Detective Phil Toman tells local media that the burning car was discovered shortly after 2 a.m. Wednesday when firefighters responded to an apartment complex in the area. He says a witness told police they saw someone shatter the window and toss the explosive into the car.

No one was injured.

Police haven’t found the person who set the car on fire, or the person who stole the car. The car, a silver 2000 Mazda 626, had been reported stolen on June 14 from Fort Lauderdale.

Anyone with information is asked to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
