OXFORD, Mass. (AP) - A second pedestrian struck by a car during a multi-vehicle crash in Oxford on Memorial Day has died.

The Worcester district attorney’s office said Wednesday that 52-year-old Gina Cappello, of Andover, died on Tuesday. Cappello was the vice chancellor for university advancement at the University of Massachusetts-Boston.

The man she was with, 53-year-old Daniel Sullivan, of Oxford, was pronounced dead at the scene of Monday’s crash. Cappello was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.

A preliminary police investigation showed that a vehicle exiting an Interstate 395 ramp lost control and hit three other vehicles, pushing one of them into Sullivan and Cappello.

The crash remains under investigation and no charges have been filed.
