NEWBERRY, S.C. (AP) - A bridge in Newberry County is washed out and has forced the closure of a road.

The sheriff’s department said in a news release late Tuesday that a bridge on Livingston Road washed out and is people must find alternate routes.

Livingston Road runs between state Highway 34 and US 176 east of Newberry.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation is assessing the damage. It was not immediately clear what prompted the washout.

No injuries have been reported.
