RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Another hearing has been set by a state agency over whether Tesla Motors can open a second company-run dealership in Virginia.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports (https://goo.gl/25hMOX ) that the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles has scheduled a July 1 hearing.

The electric car maker opened a store in Northern Virginia in 2015 and is seeking to open a second Virginia dealership in Richmond.

But the politically powerful Virginia Automobile Dealers Association is opposing Tesla’s application, saying the company should not get a second exemption from state law prohibiting car manufacturers from owning dealerships.
