FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. (AP) - A jury has found two men guilty of murder and armed robbery for killing an Applebee’s restaurant manager as he was closing up for the night.

Media outlets report that Gregory Haney Jr. and Ledarius Jackson were convicted in Fayette County court on Tuesday for the June 2015 fatal shooting of 27-year-old manager Gregory Smith outside the Fayetteville restaurant.

Haney was a former employee at the restaurant.

Investigators believe Haney and Jackson may have targeted Smith in hopes he was carrying a night deposit from the restaurant.

Prosecutors say the two men were captured on the restaurant’s surveillance video.

WSB-TV (https://2wsb.tv/2825DRb ) reports that the two men are expected to be sentenced on Wednesday.
