TURNER, Maine (AP) - Authorities say a 73-year-old man was killed when his van crossed into the path of a pickup truck and struck it in Turner.

The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office says the man hit a pickup truck driven by 35-year-old Benjamin Ouellette of Greene. It happened around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Ouellette was taken to Central Maine Medical Center with serious injuries. The van driver, who lived in Gray, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld until his family is notified.

An investigation is continuing.
