TYSONS CORNER, Va. (AP) - Fairfax County Police have charged a man they say intentionally drove an SUV into a diner in Tysons Corner, fatally injuring a man who was walking into the eatery.

The department said in a news release that 59-year-old Samuel Abutoh of Springfield was served arrest warrants Tuesday. He is charged with second-degree murder, arson and other offenses.

Authorities say on May 4, Abutoh intentionally drove his vehicle, a Hummer, into the Silver Diner multiple times. Officers say he hit 74-year-old Andrew Sheren of McLean. Sheren died of his injuries on May 17.

Abutoh was initially charged with malicious wounding. Police say that charge was revised to second-degree murder after Sheren died.
