PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Police say the woman has been killed after crossing the street in front of an Uber driver’s car in Philadelphia.

Police have yet to release the name of the woman or the driver involved in the incident about 2 a.m. Wednesday. Police say the driver wasn’t impaired, stopped and the scene and has cooperated with police.

Investigators say the woman wasn’t using crosswalk and stepped into the path of the 2016 Honda Accord. They say she was leaving a delicatessen and crossed in the middle of the street.

The woman was taken from the scene with a severe head injury and died a short time later at Hahnemann University Hospital.

Police Chief Inspector Scott Small says investigators will review surveillance video from the area.
