BOSSIER CITY, La. (AP) - Authorities are investigating the deaths of a Bossier City husband and wife as a murder-suicide.

Local media outlets report Bossier City police say officers were called to the couple’s home Tuesday afternoon to perform a welfare check on the couple after family members were unable to make contact with them.

Police say arriving officers found 54-year-old Angela Lively and 51-year-old Eric Lively inside the residence and unresponsive. They both had gunshot wounds.

Investigators say they believe Eric Lively may have shot and killed his wife with handgun before turning the gun on himself.

A weapon was recovered at the scene.

Police say there are no records of prior incidents involving the couple.
