SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Authorities say that after 13 years on the run, a Santa Rosa man suspected of molesting two girls was apprehended in Mexico recently by the FBI.

The Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports (https://bit.ly/20T6gXN ) Tuesday that Santa Rosa police Detective Chris Mahurin says that 69-year-old Grant Lavelle Hudson III fled Sonoma County in 2003 while he was awaiting trial.

A convicted sex offender, Hudson was facing new allegations of molesting two girls - under 15 and 14 years old - over an eight-year period.

A judge released Hudson after a preliminary hearing and he went missing. A warrant was issued for his arrest. He was featured on the “America’s Most Wanted” television series in 2011.

He was found on May 20 in Mexico. He remains in a San Francisco hospital awaiting medical clearance and will eventually be returned to Sonoma County.
