FLINT, Mich. (AP) - A Flint teenager who pleaded guilty to assault after shooting at state police troopers has been sentenced.

The Flint Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1UuWnOi ) Wednesday that the 16-year-old was ordered to serve time in the state’s juvenile system.

He could be sentenced to the Michigan Department of Corrections if a judge determines he has not been rehabilitated by his 21st birthday.

Police have said two troopers were shot at while patrolling a Flint neighborhood in June 2015.

The teen’s name is being withheld because of his age. A review on his progress in the juvenile facility is expected in six months.
