PROVO, Utah (AP) - Authorities say a woman out boating with friends on Memorial Day was rescued from a Utah lake after spending eight hours lost in the water in a bikini.

The Utah County Sheriff’s office said the 29-year-old Lehi woman was located about 3 a.m. Tuesday in Utah Lake near the Provo Airport.

She was suffering from hypothermia and had cuts and scrapes from walking about a mile through thick reeds in the water. The woman was hospitalized and is expected to recover.

Authorities said she tried to walk back to shore after the boat got stuck in shallow water about 7 p.m. Monday.

Her friends reported her missing after returning to the harbor.

Authorities said the air temperature was in the mid 40s and water temperature in the mid 60s.
