EASTVALE, Calif. (AP) - Fifteen people were hospitalized after a chemical spill at a Southern California canning factory, but no one was seriously injured.

The Riverside County Fire Department said a forklift was loading a concentrated cleaning acid on to a dock at a Starkist Foods facility in Eastvale on Thursday. One of the forklift arms pierced a plastic container and about 40 gallons spilled.

Fifteen workers were taken to hospitals with inhalation problems. Four of them had moderate injuries, 11 of them minor.

The spill was contained about three hours after it happened.
