LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Nebraska’s Beyond Becoming an Outdoors-Woman program has scheduled several activities through the end of July.

The workshops provide participants opportunities to hone outdoor skills while surrounded by like-minded individuals in a Nebraska state park or recreation area.

Among the activities are a Platte River canoeing trip June 17 at Schramm Park State Recreation Area near Gretna. This trip is designed for experienced canoers.

On the weekend of June 18 and 19 there will be an overnight backpacking excursion at Indian Cave State Park near Shubert.

A kayak trip will be held on July 15 and 16 at Niobrara State Park. It’s for experienced kayakers. But beginning kayakers can learn how on July 23 at Lake Wanahoo State Recreation Area near Wahoo.
