BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Authorities have filed child neglect charges against the parents of a 5-year-old boy found wandering alone in Bismarck.

KXMB-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1RZ6GFO ) that 22-year-old Zacheriah Treetop and 22-year-old Kaitlin Shoots The Enemy allegedly didn’t report their child missing for almost 7 hours on Wednesday.

Authorities say a 3-year-old child was left unattended inside the couple’s apartment during the same time frame.

The parents both face a felony child neglect charge that carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison. Shoots The Enemy also faces a misdemeanor charge for allegedly giving police a false identity. That charge carries a potential sentence of a year behind bars.

Court documents do not list an attorney for the couple, and a home telephone listing could not be found.
