CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - Prosecutors have dismissed 18 cases and expect to toss out more after accusing a Camden County police officer of filing false reports.

In addition to filing false reports, prosecutors have charged Douglas Dickinson with simple assault.

Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo has determined she must dismiss the cases because Dickinson would be the only officer called to testify. Some of the cases have already resulted in plea agreements. Most involve drug distribution. Others are for resisting arrest, weapons and theft.

Dickinson has been a member of the force since 2014.

It’s not known if he has a lawyer who can speak about the charges.
