PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Citizens Bank has settled a wrongful-death lawsuit filed by the family of a gas station manager who was killed during a robbery outside a bank in Rhode Island.

The Providence Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1UFC7GS ) that Citizens Financial Group reached the confidential settlement Wednesday with the family of 49-year-old David Main of Lincoln.

Jason Pleau, Jose Santiago and Kelley Lajoie all pleaded guilty to plotting the robbery of Main at the Woonsocket bank in September 2010. Authorities say Pleau shot Main after he tried to flee.

Main’s wife filed suit in 2011 alleging the bank failed to provide adequate security by increasing precautions after prior robberies.

Pleau was expected to testify in the trial on Friday.

A lawyer for the bank didn’t return a phone call seeking comment.
