LAUGHLIN, Nev. (AP) - Authorities have identified a 54-year-old man whose death near a pedestrian overpass in the Nevada resort town of Laughlin has been called a homicide.

The Clark County coroner said Friday that a cause and manner of Dwight Franken’s death is pending.

Las Vegas police said Thursday that Walter William Klatt was arrested in neighboring Bullhead City, Arizona, and will face a murder charge in Nevada.

Franken’s body was found a little before 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Mohave County jail records show the 49-year-old Klatt, of Needles, California, was held on a littering charge and as a fugitive sought in Nevada.

Police say Franken appeared to be homeless, and that evidence at the scene showed he’d been in an altercation before his body was found near Casino Drive and State Route 163.
