BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) - More than 200 people turned out at a Bridgeport church to mourn the deaths of a woman and two girls killed in a car crash last week.

The funeral took place Thursday for Jesenia Valentin of Bridgeport, her 9-year-old daughter Angelina Rodriguez and her 14-year-old niece, Asyria Ferrer.

The three were killed on June 1 when Valentin’s car was struck from behind by a tractor-trailer on Interstate 84 in southeastern New York. The car was stopped in a right lane of the highway with its flashers on after it had run out of gas.

Mourners at the Cathedral of Praise Church of God in Christ said the three are remembered for their vibrancy and joy life.
