DUNSEITH, N.D. (AP) - A new sculpture is in place at the International Peace Garden.

The 6-foot stainless steel sculpture depicts a dove being released from a pair of human hands. Garden CEO Garry Enns tells KMXC-TV (https://bit.ly/1UqvGHP ) that it symbolizes a promise of peace.

The 2,300-acre garden that straddles the U.S.-Canada border north of the North Dakota city of Dunseith is a tribute to the longstanding peace between the two countries. It gets funding from both sides of the border.

The $80,000 sculpture was installed this week. It’s designed to last for centuries.
