POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. (AP) - A southeastern Missouri woman is jailed on $500,000 bond after being accused of stabbing a teenager 16 times.
Twenty-seven-year-old Jessica Ann Sincup of Poplar Bluff waived her arraignment Thursday and pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree assault and armed criminal action.
The teenager survived the reported attack Monday.
Butler County Sheriff Mark Dobbs tells the (Poplar Bluff) Daily American (https://bit.ly/1YevYXL ) that Sincup allegedly suspected the victim was having an affair with her husband.
An investigator says in a probable cause statement that the victim sustained stab wounds on her torso, neck and back.
Authorities say they later found the knife along a river bed.
A message left Friday with Sincup’s public defender, Jerald Wallut, was not immediately returned.
