BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota Insurance Commissioner Adam Hamm says about 150 farmers will be compensated under a disciplinary action against an insurance business.

The Insurance Department came to an agreement with The Climate Corporation, which also is known as The Climate Insurance Agency and formerly was known as Weatherbill.

Hamm says there were “numerous concerns with this (insurance) product and the manner in which it was sold,” including misleading marketing.

More than $738,000 will be credited to farmer customers of the company in the form of premium returns and premium waivers. The company also will pay a $150,000 fine.
