LEXINGTON, S.C. (AP) - An Alabama man has been sentenced to 55 years in prison in the shooting death of a South Carolina man two years ago.

The State newspaper reported (https://bit.ly/1YpwL8u) that 25-year-old Justin Antonio Butler of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, was convicted of murder in the 2014 death of 29-year-old Tycus Toland of North.

Prosecutors said Monday that Butler was also convicted of attempted murder in the wounding of 35-year-old VonKeith Toland of Pelion.

Prosecutors said Butler and Terry McClure of Fairfield, California, responded to VonKeith Toland’s ad on Craigslist to sell a used car. Prosecutors say Butler and McClure went to Toland’s house and Butler pulled a gun and shot Tycus Toland in the head and wounded VonKeith Toland.

McClure is being extradited from California to face charges in Lexington County.
