NEW ALBIN, Iowa (AP) - Authorities have released the name of a fisherman whose body was found underwater near a dock along the Mississippi River in northeast Iowa.

The Allamakee (al-uh-muh-KEE’) County Sheriff’s Office identified the man Tuesday as 46-year-old Peter Englund, of New Albin.

Officers were sent to the scene around 2:20 p.m. Monday to check a report about a suspicious vehicle parked at the ramp east of New Albin. No one was found then, but river searchers called in discovered the body around 4:45 p.m. It was recovered from the water.

The Sheriff’s Office says investigators think Englund fell from the dock while fishing.
