BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) - A search for a missing swimmer in Long Island Sound in Bridgeport has been suspended.

Coast Guard crews received reports of two men who entered the water from their raft at around 4:30 p.m. Sunday. One person was rescued from the water but another remained missing.

Officials say the men, who weren’t wearing life jackets, were boating in the area off of Seaside Park Point when their oars snapped. One of the men jumped into the water to retrieve it and hasn’t been seen since.

WFSB-TV reports that the search was suspended Monday evening. A Coast Guard spokesman says the missing man was identified as 32-year-old Shigemune Mori.
