WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - A Worcester man whose ex-girlfriend has been missing since 2014 is asking a judge to dismiss arson charges against him.

Kevin Crozier is awaiting trial in Worcester Superior Court on arson and conspiracy charges stemming from a January 2015 fire that destroyed a home where he lived. Crozier has previously said he was not at home at the time of the fire.

The Telegram & Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/236A4Sw ) Crozier’s lawyer argues in the motion to dismiss that evidence presented to the grand jury was flawed because it focuses on the disappearance of 23-year-old Sabrina Hatheway rather than the fire itself.

Crozier had dated Hatheway, who was reported missing by her family on Dec. 20, 2014. She also lived in the home.

The case was continued to July 7.
