PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Gov. Gina Raimondo is among those scheduled to speak at a Rhode Island memorial service for the victims of the shooting at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando.

The service is scheduled for Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Roger Williams National Memorial in Providence.

On Monday evening, about 1,000 people attended a candlelight vigil outside a gay nightclub in Providence, followed by a march to the Statehouse steps in remembrance of the 49 people killed.

The Rhode Island Pride Festival expects to draw 40,000 people Saturday in Providence. Police are planning to provide more officers, dogs and other security measures for the event.
