CINCINNATI (AP) - Transportation authorities say travelers on the two busy north-south interstates through Cincinnati can expect delays this weekend for construction work that will affect Brent Spence Bridge traffic over the Ohio River.

Ohio’s Department of Transportation says various closures on southbound Interstate 75 south of Seventh Street will extend onto the double-decker bridge, which is prone to slow traffic and safety hazards. Lanes will close from 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights until 4 p.m. the next days.

One lane of traffic will be maintained, but authorities urge motorists to take State Route 562 to I-71 southbound.

There will also be nighttime northbound closures this weekend on I-71, with some entrance ramps closed. Drivers can use detours such as the Interstate 275 loop.

Arrow boards and signs will alert motorists.
