ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) - Tuesday is an election day in Virginia, but in northern Virginia, it’s only Arlingtonians who are going to the polls.

The sole race on the ballot in northern Virginia is a Democratic primary for a seat on the Arlington County Board. Incumbent Libby Garvey is facing a challenge from Eric Gutshall.

Garvey has at times found herself at odds with the Democratic majority on Arlington’s County Board over spending and other issues. Gutshall has received a number of endorsements from county officials.

In the rest of Virginia, several congressional primaries are on the ballot. But in northern Virginia, there are no congressional primaries. Democrats Don Beyer and Gerry Connolly and Republicans Barbara Comstock and Rob Wittman are all seeking re-election.
