ROCKVILLE, Ind. (AP) - Authorities have identified the pilot of a plane that crashed after takeoff from a western Indiana airport.

Forty-four-year-old Kurt Waugh of Rockville was positively identified Tuesday during an autopsy at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.

Forensic pathologist Dr. Roland Kohr says blunt force trauma was determined to be the preliminary cause of death for both Waugh and an unidentified passenger.

The two died Monday when their single-engine Cessna 150 crashed into a wooded area near the private Butler Airfield south of Rockville.

Parke County Sheriff Justin Cole says National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration investigators were at the scene of the crash Tuesday about 60 miles west of Indianapolis.
