SIOUX CITY, Iowa (AP) - Sioux City officials have agreed to have an architecture firm design a day lodge at a planned all-seasons park.

The City Council voted unanimously Monday to have Sioux City-based PLaN Architecture design a day lodge estimated to cost $750,000.

The Sioux City Journal reports (https://bit.ly/237U5YS ) the city has raised nearly $24,000 in additional private funds for the $4 million Cone Park.

A state board made a $300,000 grant to the city for the park last month.

The park will include a tubing hill, splash pad and ice rink.

The lodge will be one story and will include restrooms, an office, storage, concessions and a public gathering space.
