LAKEWOOD, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a wrestling match between two men at a New Jersey apartment complex turned violent and ended with one man dead and the other facing murder charges.

Ocean County prosecutors say 53-year-old Dmitrii Dorzhinov called Lakewood police around 1 a.m. Tuesday to report the stabbing at the Crossroad Manor complex.

Responding officers soon found 54-year-old Gela Suqiashvilli “sitting on a chair unresponsive” in an apartment. He was suffering from multiple puncture and slash wounds to his upper torso and face.

Authorities say it’s not clear what sparked the stabbing. They say the two men had been wrestling with each other and it soon escalated into a violent confrontation.

Dorzhinov’s bail was set at $1 million. It wasn’t known Wednesday if he has retained an attorney.
