GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - The Coast Guard says crews are working to contain a diesel spill in the Gulfport Harbor.

In a news release, the Coast Guard says about 250 gallons apparently spilled during a fuel transfer about 5 a.m. Wednesday.

Several agencies also responded to the spill including the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality, the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration and the Oil Response Company.

The Coast Guard says 1,000 feet of containment boom has been place around the diesel and the spill is under investigation.
