PHOENIX (AP) - A Buckeye man who pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in his friend’s death has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Maricopa County Superior Court officials say 19-year-old Richard Anthony Burns Jr. was sentenced Wednesday.

Burns pleaded guilty in April in the 2015 shooting death of 19-year-old Matthew Christensen.

Prosecutors say Burns’ accomplice in the case also pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and will be sentenced on July 1.
