JOHNSTON, Iowa (AP) - DuPont Pioneer employees in central Iowa are back at work after being forced to leave the building earlier this week when an employee found a hand grenade in a field on the property.

Des Moines television station KCCI reports (https://bit.ly/1UPCXnd ) that the evacuation occurred Monday afternoon when the grenade was found.

The Des Moines bomb squad disposed of the grenade, and employees were allowed back into their building.

Police Sgt. Paul Parizek said the grenade was a World War II-era weapon, likely left on the property for decades. The property was once part of the Camp Dodge training facility.
