NEW HAMPTON, N.H. (AP) - A New Hampshire firefighter has died of a heart attack hours after returning home from rescue training.

New Hampton Fire Chief Michael Drake says 43-year-old Douglas Clement died on Tuesday morning. He had returned from rescue training on Monday night.

Clement was pronounced dead at Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth. The New Hampshire Medical Examiner’s Office says the cause of death was accidental.

Clement was a member of the department since 1997.
