LINCOLNTON, N.C. (AP) - A Gastonia man has been arrested after police say he tried to meet a person he thought was a 14-year-old child for sex while he was dressed as a character from the “Men in Black” movie.

Lincolnton police told local media outlets that 36-year-old Michael Robert Geressy is charged with soliciting a child for an illegal sex act and appearing to meet the child.

Geressy entertained at events and police say he also had costumes and props to appear as characters from “Ghostbusters,” ”Indiana Jones,” and “Star Trek.”

Detectives posed as a child on social media and say Geressy discussed meeting a teen for sex.

He was wearing a black suit, tie and sunglasses, as characters from “Men In Black.”

It was not clear if he has an attorney.
